Beauty Babes 😀 If you caught my current favourites post, you would have seen me briefly mention the brand new Becca Bright Eyes Collection. This collection sees the addition of two new products to their range – an Anti-Fatigue Primer and a Brightening Setting Powder. These in conjunction with the ever popular Under-Eye Brightening Corrector, which now has two shades, make up the Bright Eyes line.
I have been a long time lover of the Corrector and use it every time I wear make, and even often when I’m not. So, it makes sense that I was ridiculously excited to see this launch.
Review Becca Bright Eyes Collection: Anti-Fatigue Eye Primer
Coverage can only go so far. This priming balm instantly smoothens and blurs fine lines while reducing puffiness over time. Infused with cucumber, Matcha Green Tea and Caffeine, the sheer and velvety texture effortlessly melts into the skin to condition the eye area. This primer perfectly preps the skin for corrector and concealer application, so makeup never creases or looks cakey.
Yes, I can see how this can come across as gimmicky, but just this once I am going to allow myself to buy into this unnecessary, but beautiful product. Ever since becoming a mum, I have struggled with tired looking eyes and dark circles; a new found problem, that previously I never had to deal with.
This balm is cool to the touch and feels so lovely on the skin. It glides over my delicate under-eye area and it instantly feels refreshed. There is no greasy residue and the skin certainly does look and feel smoother and brighter – the perfect canvas for colour correcting and concealing. I find that my concealer does sit better on my skin and creasing is kept to a minimum when this is used as a prep step. I also really enjoy the cooling effect and the way it blurs out any fine lines.
It is one of those products that isn’t absolutely necessary when it comes to concealing dark circles, but it sure does help. Plus I find the application really enjoyable and a step that has seamlessly slotted into my usual makeup routine.
Review Becca Bright Eyes Collection: Under-Eye Brightening Corrector
Infused with ultrafine light-reflecting illuminators, this rich luminescent cream won’t settle into fine lines or wrinkles as it preps skin for smooth, even concealer coverage. It pairs perfectly with the Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème to conceal, colour correct, and brighten the under-eye area.
Becca have finally released a new shade in this cult-status product. I have always loved the peach shade, as it counteracts the grey tones under the eye, and it works perfectly for me, but there is no way ladies with a darker skin tones could get away with it. So it is about bloody time.
There are definitely a few tricks in applying this sticky product. Firstly you just have to warm it up between your fingers before you apply, otherwise it isn’t going to blend in very well. I find it best to pat into the skin to reduce the amount of creasing and it definitely needs to be set. The formula is quite thick and a little goes a very long way, and things can get into hot mess territory very quickly. But once you know how to work it, it really is unlike anything else. So be prepared for a bit of trial and error, but the work is worth it.
The result is bright looking eyes, that aren’t creased or cakey looking, but instead a very natural and fresh finish. Fine lines are instantly blurred and the area is smooth AF. You can then add your usual concealer for ultimate bright eyes, but a lot of the time this set with a brightening powder works perfectly for me. I CANNOT live without this product, and that is really saying something.
Review Becca Bright Eyes Collection: Under-Eye Brightening Setting Powder
This weightless and invisible loose powder instantly brightens and sets under-eye makeup for lasting wear. Infused with light-reflecting pearl powders, it instantly blurs the appearance of fine lines without settling.
Oh, hello! This powder is unreal. It is so ridiculously soft and light, I don’t think I have ever used a powder so finely milled. As I mentioned, the corrector certainly needs setting and this does the job brilliantly! It brightens, smooths, blurs and works miracles if you ask me. Sometimes, setting powders applied over a few layers of product can look heavy and ageing, but this just softens the area and in a way works like a snapchat filter. I do not have a bad thing to say about this littler wonder
Overall Thoughts about Becca Bright Eyes Collection
What a range! Usually when a collection is released there is going to be a few duds, but not here, not for me anyway. Each of the products work well on their own, but create the most natural, perfecting finish I have ever seen when used together. You could potentially be without the primer and still create a beautiful look, but I really enjoy it and will continue to use and love it. I would definitely recommend trying Becca Bright Eyes Collection out next time you are in Sephora.
Are dark circles and tired looking eyes something you struggle with? What is your holy grail product to cover or treat them?
