REVIEW BRAND SPOTLIGHT: RED EARTH BEAUTY

Red Earth Beauty. Now that is a name I haven’t heard in well over 10 years! I remember being a snooty pre-teen and only wanting the best, and that was Red Earth cosmetics. I remember them having a stand-alone  store at my local shopping centre, Carindale and being overcome with equal parts awe, amazement and lust.  But all of a sudden Red Earth ceased to exsit, well at least to me. There was no more stores or word of my beloved Red Earth. Until now.

Red Earth Beauty are back, baby! Big time. Being inspired by their Australian home, Red Earth have created a range with quality and practicality having the utmost importance when developing their brand. Not only are Red Earth back with what they do best, cosmetics. But they also have a skincare range available. I have been trialling three products and I cannot wait to share them with you.

Review Red Earth Beauty – Earth Colour Eyeshadow Palette

First off the bat, is the absolutely gorgeous Earth Colour Eyeshadow Palette* in Warm Glow. I have been absolutely blown away with the quality of this little beauty. At first glance, the mirrored bronze packaging is sleek, sexy, and right on trend. It is really compact and sturdy. On the inside, there is a large mirror and 10 pans. Although the palette is small, the pan sizes are really decent and a crease brush fits in there with ease.

There is a really good selection of colours, although they do lean more to the lighter side. I am not sure if they would suit someone with a darker skin tone, but I couldn’t be certain. There are 4 mattes that are balanced out nicely with 6 shimmer shades. On the light end of the scale there is icy white shade that delivers a lovely sheen, there is also a creamy matte that is great as a base or transition colour. The next three colours are quite similar, just with differing undertones. They are shimmery, without being glittery or chunky. The rest of the shades in the palette are definitely my favourites.

The matte pale pink and beige are just gorgeous, and are my most used. Then to finish off the shades there is a lovely goldy-bronze and a shimmer and matte brown.  The formula is  creamy and pigmented, and blends out really easily. I think this is a great little palette, perfect for travel and everyday looks. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.

Review Red Earth Beauty – Secret Potion Illuminating Skin Fluid

The next item I have been playing with is the Secret Potion Illuminating Skin Fluid* in Magician. Again, the packaging is sleek and very luxe. It is a beautiful glass bottle, with that same shiny bronze lid. The Skin Fluid is delivered through a pump and it quite thin in consistency. It is the most flattering peachy bronze shade and spreads out like a dream.

I have mixed this in with foundation, as a liquid highlight and also added a touch to moisturiser for an all-over body glow. What a multi-tasker. The Skin Fluid adds a beautiful touch of glow, without being too much. It smells similar to Guerlain meteorites, which is a scent that I adore – very violet-y.  It is a great dupe for Josie Maran’s Argan Illuminator but much more affordable for the amount of product you get. I love.

Review Red Earth Beauty – Facial Tanning Serum

Lastly, I have been playing with the Facial Tanning Serum* with argan oil and organic fig. There is one thing that makes me feel more confident than anything else and that is a tan. I especially love a tanned face. I am not one of those people that can tan their body and have a super pale face. Having a tan makes me feel super confident to go without makeup. But normal body tans just do not cut it. They go patchy and block your pores, big time.

Red Earth Beauty – Facial Tanning Serum

For a while, I have been looking for a facial tanner that doesn’t contain any nasties. I have found it. Red Earth’s Facial Tanning serum is a lightweight hydrating gradual self-tanner. It contains argan oil, sweet almond oil, fig and pomegranate. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t smell offensive in the slightest. I like to add a few squirts to a cotton round and lightly swipe over my face before bed to ensure it is even. But I haven’t had any issues yet, I do this a couple of times a week. As a result, it leaves me looking bronzed and glowy minus the sun damage. Moreover, it is even really good a touch up fake tan on the body, in case I’ve been my usual lazy self and missed a few spots.

This re-introduction with Red Earth has been great, and I have found some winners, that is for sure. I look forward to discovering more of their home-grown products.

Red Earth can be purchased from Active Skin, and they regularly have great deals and promos going. So you may even get some more bang for your buck.

Do you remember Red Earth? Have you used any of their new range?
