Pixi Highlighter

Introducing the Pixi By Petra, Glow-y Gossamer Duos. These sparkly wonders are just a little bit of magic. While they look unassuming, housed in their simple little compacts, this Pixi highlighter is something a bit special.

Pixi Highlighter – Top to bottom – Subtle Sunrise and Delicate Dew

Available in two different shades – Subtle Sunrise and Delicate Dew. Subtle Sunrise contains a beautiful gold and rose gold shade that has a soft pink shift. Delicate Dew has a champagne pink and a golden bronze. I think I love Subtle Sunrise just a smidge more, the gold just suits my skin tone perfectly.

These are the best damn highlighters I have come across in a lonnnng time.  The texture is unlike anything I’ve ever really used. At first swatch, you could be fooled into thinking that these powders are really a soft velvety cream. But, in fact, they are a very unique feeling powder. They almost feel cool and wet in the pan. While they appear super shimmery and pigmented, the finish isn’t at all glittery or chunky. They add the most beautifully understated metallic sheen to the high points of your face. Somehow they give the skin that wet look without highlighting any texture.

I like to apply these duos by tapping the powder on my cheekbones and blending out with a brush.  I haven’t had a whole lot of luck applying the powders with a brush so far. You can layer the powder on the top of a liquid illuminator to get a blinding highlight, otherwise, these create the most beautiful lit-from-within effect. I’ve found the shades with pink or bronze undertones work really well as a blush topper as well.

I have been using these duos non-stop, favoring them over my high-end products.  But do you want to know the best part? The duos retail for under $30 each and with two shades in the pan, you can’t go wrong.
