I was fortunate enough to be sent some Real-U Skincare products to try. Real-U is an Australian brand that boasts about being able to control and clear your skin gently. The skin care program is a 3-step regime targeted at oily and blemish-prone skin (Absolutely perfect for me!)
Their website states “Targeting oily and acne-prone skin and even the occasional annoying spot. It has the delicious effect of reducing your pore size, making your skin smoother. With no irritating nasties like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid… It’s gentle on your skin.”
I absolutely love that Real-U products contain no nasties and are gentle on the skin, but do they work? After trialing Real-U for 4 weeks, these are my thoughts –
Real – U Skincare – Gentle Foaming Wash
The first step in the regime contains Aloe Vera, known for its soothing properties and claims it is pH balanced. This was the one product I thought I wasn’t going to like. In the past foaming cleansers left my skin feeling tight, tingly and dry. But not this one. My skin felt soft, clean and refreshed. The foaming wash is a gel consistency that lathers up nicely and removes all makeup and residue of the day.
Real-U Skincare – Control Face Gel
This one the one product I was most intrigued by. The Control Gel is marketed as a serum and is the workhorse of the three products. Furthermore, it aims to treat blemishes and maintain the skin’s condition. I apply the serum straight out of the shower and soak in by the time I have gotten dressed. The gel soothes and cools, and my skin feels refreshed, soft and perfectly prepared for moisturizing.
Real-U Skincare – Hydrate Lite Moisturiser
The moisturizer claims to replenish, rebalance and hydrate the skin without clogging pores. The moisturizer is similar to a gel consistency and soaks in almost instantly. It is super lightweight and soothing. Above all, I really like the moisturizer and feel like it creates a perfect base for makeup.
Overall, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin texture. Blemishes are few and far between and when they do pop up, I feel like they don’t stick around for too long. Moreover, I love the simplicity of these products. They stand up to the claims of being gentle, yet packing a punch. However, the only con is that my face seems to sweat for a little while after applying the serum and moisturizer. Granted, it has been warm lately. But I just found this a little bizarre but nothing that causes too much of an issue. These guys will continue to remain in my skincare regime. I am even thinking about purchasing the Control + Face Serum for a little more treatment for when my skin is a bit hormonal.
Real-U products retail between $15 – $50 depending on the type or size of the product and can be bought here.
I’d love to know your experience if you have used Real-U.
