I bought this full-size Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water after a really positive experience with it last year and this is my review. My skin was at least 1 or 2 tone fairer after just using this toner (20ml miniature) for 2 weeks. I was kinda hesitated between this and the Essential Balancing Water EX at first but had decided to go for this after that positive experience with the Snowise Brightening Water.

Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water Overview

Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water is packed in a classy frosted glass bottle, just like many other hanbang toner from Korea, not without a reason. Most Chinese medical practitioners recommend glass over plastic, for efficacy and safety reason, so I think the same rationale applies here too.

Sulwhasoo skincare philosophy is also very hanbang, or “Asian medical wisdom oriented”. It is not about scientifically-proven ingredients, but more about the thousand years of wisdom derive from Asian medical practices.

I am sure you guys heard from your Chinese friends about this thing called “heaties”. You get fever due to excessive “heaties” in your system. There are certain foods that can reduce the “heaties”, or make the “heaties” worse. And these are essentially linked to the balance between the yin and yang energy in your body. Yin means cold and energy on the negative polar whereas yang refers to warm/hot and energy on the positive polar. You are at your healthiest state when your body has a balanced yin and yang, so does your skin.

Sulwhasoo, and many oriental medical practitioners believe that women get wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, dullness and dryness in their skin due to “yin deficiency 阴虚”. Therefore, you can eliminate all these symptoms of aging by replenishing your skin with yin energy with these Asian medical herbs.

The Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water comes in a gel-type liquid. It is really lightweight despite being slightly viscous than water, and will get absorbed into your skin effortlessly, without leaving behind any stickiness or greasiness. It has a nice hanbang scent to it as well!

Normally, I will apply this after my First Care Activating Serum EX, and then follow by Ginseng Serum and finally Belif Aqua Bomb. I will add in IOPE Bio-Essence and Huxley Essences depending on my mood and skincare needs.

The key ingredient here is of course our patented “snowise tri-white complex”, made of white ginseng saponin, white cloud grass, and white ginseng polysaccharides. These are powerful components derived from white ginseng that can reduce melanin synthesis, shield your skin from photodamages, and strengthen your skin barrier.

Mulberry root extract, known as being a natural AHA, helps to gently whisk away dead skin cells and restore dewiness back to your skin. Many herbal ingredients with the abilities to breakdown melanin formation and reduce existing pigmentation, are also added here to give you that luminous complexion, and these are licorice root extract, peony root extract, lotus extract, paper mulberry root extract.

Review Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water Performance

I usually apply this using bare hands. Just pour the products on your palm, and then lightly pat it for absorption. Alternatively, you can also soak the product with lotion mask (my favourite is the Japanese brand Silcot) and then apply it on your face like normal sheet mask for 3-5 minutes.

Doing so allows the product to be absorbed into your skin better and more effectively, without “wasting” any of the effective ingredients inside.

I did notice that after several uses, my dark spots diminish and that my skin has become fairer over time. However, the only downside with this snowise brightening water is that, it is still not as lightweight and hydrating as the balancing water ex, which is fair, because this is meant for brightening whereas the balancing one is more for hydrating.

CONCLUSION

I enjoy using this toner a lot. I think Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water is one of the best brightening toners you can find with skin moisturizing properties. It doesn’t dry your skin out. It also contains oriental herbal ingredients with thousands of years of Asian wisdom to balance and tone your skin. So no harsh chemicals here! It is also really effective at improving the overall radiance of your skin. You will notice that your dark spots and freckles are going down over time and that your skin will appear flawless and fairer as a result.

Highly recommended Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Water for normal to dry skin, especially those in their 25s and above, who is looking for an effective skin moisturizing and brightening toner! Thanks for reading and I will Review Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repair Restoring Serum Spray Leave In Treatment next time.
