With increased availability of organic and natural ingredients such as natural soap and essential oils, making your own homemade shampoo is greatly facilitated.

Herbal homemade shampoo

Ingredients:

  • dried herbs
  • natural soap
  • vegetable oil
  • essential oil of your choosing

In a cooking pot, pour one cup of distilled water and leave it to boil. If you do not have distilled water, you can use water from household water system, but additives from your local water system can adversely affect the quality of your homemade shampoo.

Add two tablespoons of dried herbs such as chamomile in a boiling water. If you do not have dried herbs you can use three to six tea bags from whatever plant you want. Soak the herbs in water, remove from heat and let stand until the mixture becomes mild. Transfer the water through a strainer to separate the liquid from the plant. Return the liquid in the cooking pot.

Add two tablespoons of natural soap in lukewarm liquid and mix well. Also add the tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix. Add ten to fifteen drops of essential oil, and you can add scents of orange or lemon liquid. Finished mixture pour into an airtight container such as a glass bottle or plastic packaging used for shampoo.

Now you’ve got your first homemade shampoo. After using homemade shampoo, rinse your hair with a mixture from the apple cider vinegar and water. This will help your hair to better adopt to natural homemade shampoo.
