Hello beauties, With winter fast approaching, I love using a cleansing balm to remove my makeup as it removes all traces of makeup and leaves my skin feeling nourished. Today I’ll share my thoughts about two well-known cleansing balms the; Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm and the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm.
Review Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm
Elemis describes the Cleansing Balm as, “the ultimate anti-ageing cleansing ritual for the skin. This softening balm contains natural essential oils that melt on contact with the skin for a luxurious cleanse while captivating the senses with its exquisite aroma.”
- Retails for $89 for 105g
- Quite a soft cleansing balm. Melts quite quickly in the palms of my hands
- I use about a 5 to 10 cent piece
- A little of this cleansing balm really does go a long way
- I start by warming the cleansing balm in the palms of my hands than massage my dry face (with makeup)
- After about a minute I add some warm water to emulsify the balm, which creates a beautiful milky texture
- I remove it using a warm muslin cloth, which removes makeup quite effectively, including eye makeup
- I find its really effective at removing waterproof mascara
- Once washed off, my skin is clean with no traces of makeup and not feeling extremely dry, but quite nicely hydrated
- Also I should mention I love the scent! It’s quite fragrant but it doesn’t irritate my skin
Review Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm
Emma Hardie describes the Cleansing Balm as, “a balanced daily cleanser that thoroughly cleanse deep in the pores, moisturises and calms all skin types.”
- Retails for $79.95 for 100ml with a bonus cleansing cloth from TVSN
- This is a soft cleansing balm as well, but doesn’t melt as quickly as the Elemis one
- I tend to use more of this to cleanse my face
- Same as the Elemis cleansing balm, I start by warming the cleansing balm in the palms of my hands than massage my dry face
- You can also add a bit of water to emulsify the balm
- To remove the cleanser I use the Emma Hardie muslin cloth which are awesome! I’ve had my muslin cloths for years and they still work perfectly
- I find using the Emma Hardie cleansing balm is effective at removing all makeup, including eye makeup
- It’s not as effective as the Elemis cleansing balm in removing waterproof makeup, but still removes a lot of it
- Once all washed off my skin is left feeling clean and hydrated
- This cleansing balm is also quite fragrant but not as fragrant as the Elemis cleansing balm
As you can see they’re both very similar but if I had to choose one, I would say I prefer the Elemis cleansing balm. The reason being is; I find its more effective and you have to use less product, so essentially while it is an expensive product it would still be more cost effective.
