I remember calling my first IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning the best alternative to SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. And I still think it was. But IOPE, just like all other Korean products, always keeps renovating to catch up with the ever-changing beauty trend, has recently reformulated its best-selling Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning hence I am ended up with this reformulated IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Bio-Redox that I am not sure is it still good as my first one.
In today’s review, I’m gonna share with you guys my thoughts on this reformulated IOPE Bio Essence after using it for a good 2 months.
Review IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Bio-redox
The reformulated IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Bio-Redox is pretty easy to recognize. Its packaging has a pinkish shiny layer. The texture is also slightly richer compared to the older version, although the absorbency of this essence is still fairly excellent.
IOPE claims that this bottle contains over 60 million bio-enzymes, to hydrate, brighten and smoothen your skin. It is a “unicorn’s tears” for all skin types wanting a fair, young and supple complexion.

Review IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Bio-redox Ingredients
The key component here is advanced Bio-Redox A™ that helps to strengthen and revitalize your skin. It is similar to pitera essence where it can make your skin smoother, clearer and brighter. It also helps to adjust your skin’s oil and moisture balance to keep it hydrated and oil-free for longer. So it can help with oily skin and those with pores concern.
Second ingredient here is water, which is then followed by niacinamide, which is essentially vitamin B3 that can help to improve your skin elasticity and reduce dark spots and pigmentation. It is my favourite ingredient as it really helps to reduce my freckles.
We also have glycolipids, which is to maintain the stability of cell membrane and to facilitate cellular recognition that allows cells to connect to one another to form tissues. It is essentially a cellular communicating component that helps to strengthen the elasticity of your skin.
Next, we also have theanine, a form of amino acids that is found in green tea leaves to provide anti-oxidizing, detoxifying and moisturizing effect for the skin. Caffeine is also added to protect the skin from free radicals damages. Caffeine can also enhance the appearance of dry or damaged skin by reducing flaking and restoring suppleness.
Overall, the reformulated version is a different product altogether. Most of the key side-ingredients are different from the previous versions. This version has a lot of moisturizing components added to it, so you can see that its antioxidizing effect is sort of “diluted”.
Now let’s look at the performance part.
IOPE Bio Essence Intensive Conditioning Performance
After using it for a good 3 months, I think the product is not as good as its older formulation. Texture-wise, it is quite viscous so you will feel that it is somewhat less refreshing and hydrating but more moisturizing. The absorbency is equally fast though.
In term of results, I think it doesn’t do much to my skin texture and skin tone. I notice that my pores are slightly more noticeable/bigger, maybe due to the stress or what, after using this product. My skin is fairly smooth though but I think that is due to better hydration with the cream that I am using. As for freckles, honestly, it doesn’t show much improvements.
As such, I cannot quite endorse the claims that this essence makes. I do notice an improvement in my overall skin tone, i.e. my skin becomes fairer, but nothing much in terms of freckles or skin texture. I still develop whiteheads and blackheads after using this product so I think it is also not as good as exfoliating and cellular-renewing as its older formulation.
