Ingredients:

  • 11 tablespoons olive oil
  • yarrow (flowers and/or leaves)
  • 7-8 slices of beeswax
  • few drops essential oil of your choice

Preparation:

  1. Mix yarrow flowers and leaves in slightly heated olive oil. Yarrow flowers and leaves should be completely covered in olive oil, so use just enough yarrow to fit in olive oil.
  2. Heat it with really mild (minimum) temperature. You can press the mixture with a spoon so that yarrow releases as much beneficial ingredients as possible.
  3. Leave the mixture sit for several hours, overnight for example.
  4. Strain the mixture through a thick sieve.
  5. Put it on low heat again and add 7-8 slices of beeswax. I don’t have an accurate gram scale, so it is hard to tell the exact amount of beeswax. I used a really small amount of wax. If you have a piece of about 100 grams, then cut 7-8 slices with a knife and that’s it. Very small amount of wax is needed to thicken the cream.
  6. Add the essential oil of your choice (eg. Rosemary) that will add fragrance.
  7. Pour the mixture into a small bowl.

When I was making my yarrow cream I’ve put too much wax and cream was too dense. I didn’t add essential oil, because I wanted to see what pure yarrow cream will be like. I realized that the cream is missing a scent. Whatever you do, it is always possible to repair this cream.

I should have fixed the density and the scent so I just took another half-ounce of olive oil, warmed it up and added a few drops of rosemary essential oil. After heating this mixture I melted the original cream in it. Then I returned the newly created mixture in a small bowl, and my moisturizing yarrow cream with subtle fragrance was finished.

This moisturizer can be used in unlimited quantities and for everything, because it is absolutely natural.
