Review Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash (best buy 2022)

Rice fermented ingredients recently became so popular in Japan and Taiwan. Many cleansing products with rice ferment are selling well across the internet, especially the PDC Wine Yeast Wash-off Mask. I bought both Kuramoto Bijin and PDC rice fermented cleansing products during my last trip to Taiwan after many are raving about them in the internet. I kept the PDC for later as I am still struggling to finish off my other masks. Meanwhile, let’s talk about review Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash (Mandarin: 藏元美人酒粕洗颜料) that many are raving about too.

Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash Overview

First of all, can we take a second to appreciate the beautiful though simplistic packaging of this Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash. It looks like some kind of art, not just cosmetic.

Inside, you have a pack of plastic tube with white paste product inside. The product functions as a normal cleanser as well as clay cleanser. To use, you just squeeze about 2cm worth of white paste from the tube, then spread it across your face, leaving it there for 3 minutes or so before rinsing it off. It lathers into soft bubbles and rinse off easily upon contact with water.

The Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash has a nice floral scent to it too.

INGREDIENTS ANALYSIS

The cleanser shares similar skeleton as other foaming cleanser, with the white paste “aluminum silicate” and “titanium dioxide” added to it to create its thick and creamy consistency. Rice ferment filtrate is added to give the skin brightening and mild exfoliating effect, although not sure how much would it be benefiting the skin as the contact time is short. A lot of algae extracts are also included as antistatic and moisturizers in here. Overall, this looks like a normal clay cleanser kind of formulation with a lot of emollients and humectants.

Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial Wash Performance

The cleanser has a solid white, creamy and thick consistency that resembles the white paste geisha uses.

It foams up well, but not as easily and as bubbly as normal foaming cleanser.

it has a pH of 6.5

I enjoy using this as a clay mask as well as normal cleanser 3-4 times a week, especially if my skin feels clogged or oily after a long day out. It literally takes off all dirt, grime and dust on my skin after wearing it for 3-4 minutes. The best part is that it doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or uncomfortable after using. My skin just feels clean and nice. The mask hugs my skin softly and gently. The paste is quite moist so it melts easily with water. However, I didn’t notice any skin brightening effect though. It just works like a normal cleanser on my skin that can remove impurities.

Conclusion

I think Kuramoto Bijin White Rice Fermented Facial wash is a nice product, but not really that impressive or unique. It is hot due to the popularity not the usability of the product. Personally I find Hada Nature does a better job at deep-cleansing my pores. This Kuramoto Bijin is more like a clay mask that is gentle and non-hydrating. It is not technically a cleanser anyway, and it doesn’t keep your skin fairer or brighter after cleansing. It is definitely nothing comparable to rice fermented essence.

Not bad, but not impressive. Quite meh hence would not repurchase. Thanks for reading and wait my next article “Best Non Comedogenic Foundations for Your Skin
